Aim of the Project:

The aim of the project is development and improvement of photocatalytic water treatment technology using a new generation photocatalysts highly active under visible light irradiation. The specific objectives of the project are: characterization of novel and efficient visible light driven photocatalysts (nanoparticles morphology, size and shape, crystal structure, chemical and phase composition and optical, photocatalytic properties), bench scale experiments and photoreactor installation for wastewater treatment.

Celem projektu jest opracowanie fotokatalizatorów nowej generacji o wysokiej aktywności w zakresie światła widzialnego i ich zastosowanie do usuwania zanieczyszczeń organicznych z wód technologicznych po wydobyciu węglowodorów w oparciu o zaprojektowany innowacyjny system fotokatalityczny. Fotokatalizatory powinny charakteryzować się wysoką aktywnością, stabilnością oraz powinny być aktywowane za pomocą tanich źródeł promieniowania o niskiej mocy. To pozwoli na budowę efektywnych oraz relatywnie tanich systemów do degradacji zanieczyszczeń organicznych. Zastosowanie efektywnej i innowacyjnej technologii oczyszczanie płynu powrotnego pozwoli na zmniejszenie zużycia wody, jak również przyczyni się do zmniejszenia zanieczyszczenia środowiska (wód powierzchniowych i podziemnych).
