The Department of Organic Chemistry is equipped with an AUTOPOL II polarimeter by Rudolph Research (Flanders, New Jersey) used to measure the optical rotation of chiral solutions.
Device parameters:
- measurement with an accuracy of 0.01°
- standard wavelength: 589 nm (sodium D line)
- other wavelengths: 365, 546, 633 nm
- measurements in polarimetric tubes up to 20 cm long
The device is located in the room 2-3 in Faculty of Chemistry Building A.
