prof. Maria J. Milewska, Ph.D., D.Sc. Eng.

The research is focused on synthesis and organic stereochemistry. The special interest concerns stereochemistry of conformationally hindered systems, design and synthesis of potential enzymatic inhibitors and other biologically active compounds and nanocarriers for these substances that are characterized by the documented transport into cells.1 In addition, research is carried out on the development of synthetic methods, chemical properties and use of ionic liquid compounds, the anion and/or cation of which are derivatives of compounds occurring in Nature.2 Another research topic are studies concerning crystal engineering.3
