Empa showcases ASCEND project during visit by Swiss and EU representatives
On 26 March 2025, Empa welcomed representatives of the Swiss State Secretariat for Economic Affairs (SECO), the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC), and the European Union for a visit to its laboratory facilities.
During the visit, Heloisa Ramlow, researcher at Empa, presented a poster introducing the newly approved ASCEND project – “Accelerating High-Capacity Lithium-Ion Batteries with Silicon-Based Ceramics Composite Anodes.” The presentation highlighted the project’s main objectives, consortium structure, and the cooperation between research and industry partners from Switzerland and Poland.
The visitors also had the opportunity to tour Empa’s laboratory facilities and learn more about the research activities supporting the development of advanced materials and energy technologies.
The meeting provided an opportunity to exchange knowledge and discuss the importance of international cooperation in advancing sustainable battery materials and energy storage technologies.
