Professor Żaneta Polkowska a member of the ImPACT International Group | Faculty of Chemistry at the Gdańsk University of Technology

Beginning in 2021, professor Żaneta Polkowska became a member of the ImPACT International Group (Input pathways of persistent organic pollutants to Antarctica), dealing with research on the impact of chemical pollutants on the Antarctic region, which is conducted by the Scientific Committee on Antarctic Research (SCAR).

The group's activities are aimed at coordinated monitoring of four known emission and dispersion pathways of chemicals in the Antarctic area: (1) atmospheric transport, (2) hydrospheric transport, (3) in situ emissions, and (4) transfer by means of living organisms, as well as preparation of joint scientific papers resulting from coordinated monitoring activities
