The results of the project and final products can serve as inspiration for the verification and modernization of municipal kitchen waste management plans (the so-called bio fraction, selectively collected) containing bioplastics and the popularization of biogas plants using these wastes as substrates for biogas production. The DIGEST-PLAST project aims to increase the use of green energy from biogas compared to traditional energy sources.

The project is therefore aimed at future biogas plants for the recovery and energy use of biogas from the kitchen fraction containing bioplastics, as well as at farmers. The post-fermentation sludge is a product of high fertilizing value.

Other potential target groups are: producers and plants processing organic waste, incl. plants of the food processing industry, and producers of bioplastics for the production of food packaging, which are at a later stage waste.

The other target groups include:

• Research centers dealing with the subject of methane fermentation and waste management,

• Marshal's Offices, Environmental Protection Departments,

• City Halls, Environmental Protection Departments,

• Regional Inspectorate for Environmental Protection,

• Provincial Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management,

• Regional Directorate for Environmental Protection in Gdańsk,

• Private investors,

• Process design and development offices,

• Regional and national associations and organizations that act in the field of renewable energies as advisors in the use of biomass for biogas recovery.
