Research fields
Studies provided by researchers from the Department of Pharmaceutical Technology and Biochemistry, Faculty of Chemistry, Gdańsk University of Technology, are conducted in the field of biotechnology, biochemistry, bioinformatics, microbiology, cell biology, drug chemistry and molecular biology. The main research issues include the search for new molecular targets, rational design and synthesis of compounds with biological activity, searching for and isolating of active compounds from natural sources, determining the mechanisms of their biological activity at the molecular and cellular level. Scientific studies are divided into two main streams: in the area of compounds with antitumor activity (research groups 1, 2 and 3) and antimicrobial activity (research groups 1, 3, 4 and 5).
- The synthesis, isolation and structural studies of biologically active compounds research group – S. Milewski
