The first scientific meeting of participants of the international specialization Inter Applied Chemistry is behind us. The meeting was aimed at summarizing the semester course "Introduction to hazard assessment of chemicals", given by Dr Marta Markiewicz (Technical University of Dresden) as part of the fifth semester of specialization. Students of the Inter Applied Chemistry specialization prepared and presented posters on the assessment of the hazards related to chemical compounds. The meeting was a scientific session and the students' speeches were prepared very professionally.
As part of the Inter Applied Chemistry specialization, thirty students from various fields of study take classes at the Faculty of Chemistry. Each semester they jointly participate in one subject taught in English by a foreign lecturer. In the previous semesters, the lecturers were from Scotland, Bulgaria, Germany and Spain.
Participants of the Inter Applied Chemistry program praise their participation in the project. As benefits, they indicate the possibility of contacting foreign lecturers and solving problems in English. They also emphasize that the issues discussed in the Inter Applied Chemistry specialization classes supplement the knowledge gained during their classes of regular study programs.
We would like to acknowledge the commitment of authorities of the Faculty of Chemistry to the event, technical service employees (Mr. Karol Pałczyński and Sebastian Kowalski), Students Research Groups: Students' Biotechnology Research Group (KSB), Chemists Scientific Group (NKCh), Student Section of the Polish Chemical Society –“Hybryda” and students themselves.
