Scientific activity

  • Development of new methods of determining trace components in samples of complex matrixe
  • Development of new methodologies for environmental monitoring and biomonitoring
  • Designing, constructing and testing analytical characteristics of prototype control-measurement devices,
  • Assessing pollution of particular abiotic environmental compartments and determining processes occurring in these compartments (transport, degradation…)
  • Assessing environmental fate of xenobiotics and bioaccumulation processes in tissues and organs of living organisms,
  • Applying modern analytical techniques to check quality of food products
  • Development of new techniques of producing materials of special properties and/or high purity grade tested with use of chromatographic techniques,
  • Organizing interlaboratory studies and proficiency testing.

Analytical, research and technological services

  • Elaboration of solutions in the field of environmental monitoring and biomonitoring.
  • The pollution level assessment in animate and inanimate elements of the environment, and the investigations of undergoing processes and the environmental fate of xenobiotics in those elements.
  • Analyzing the quality of food products by using analytical techniques.
  • Analytical biochemistry (proteogenomics).
  • Designing, constructing and testing the analytical characteristics of prototypic modules that are used in the standardized controlling and measuring equipment.
  • Developing novel technologies for manufacturing materials characterized by special properties and/or high level of purity.
  • Developing technologies for the production of novel reference materials.
  • Organizing the inter-laboratory comparisons.
  • The ecotoxicity assessment of xenobiotics and their mixtures.

  • Assessing quality and pollution level of drinking water, air, effluents, wastes and technical materials of different origin and of different composition,
  • Assessing indoor air quality  (air in rooms for permanent presence of humans),
  • Assessing occupational air quality,
  • Constructing special modules which can be coupled with commercial control-measurement devices (gas and liquid chromatographs, monitors of environmental pollutants…) designed for:
    - isolation and/or preconcentration of analytes,
    - drying and cleaning gas streams,
    - deoxygenation of gas streams,
    - liberation of analytes from appropriate traps (thermal desorbers).
  • Constructing and testing generators of gaseous standard mixtures,
  • Implementation of Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) and Life Cycle Assessment of goods and services,
  • Constructing and testing gas and liquid chromatographs for teaching students.
