The Faculty of Chemistry is located in the main campus of the Gdańsk University of Technology (Gabriela Narutowicza 11/12, Gdańsk, Pomeranian Voivodeship, Poland).

The research and teaching infrastructure of the Faculty comprises four buildings, which house teaching rooms, research laboratories and administrative premises, as well as chemical stores.  The Old Chemistry (Chemistry A) building, the Chemistry B building and the Chemistry C building, as well as the stores, form a compact complex in the south-eastern part of the university campus, while the Chemistry D building is located about 200 meters away from this complex. The facilities are fenced and protected with 24/7 external and internal security and electronic monitoring.

The teaching infrastructure consists of two auditoriums, each with a 135 seat capacity, two additional auditoriums, each with a 50 seat capacity, a lecture hall with a 112 seat capacity, as well as 12 other lecture halls of various sizes, 124 classrooms and seminar rooms, and numerous laboratories. The auditoriums and lecture halls are fitted with modern multimedia equipment. The entire campus area is covered with an Eduroam Wi-Fi network, available to all employees and students.

For over 75 years, we have delivered teaching in Polish to thousands of students in the fields of chemistry, technology and biotechnology. Our students find employment in industry and research laboratories, as well as at universities and in public administration, both in Poland and abroad, and we proudly follow their achievements.

We follow our university’s motto – “History is wisdom; future is challenge”. Therefore, we draw knowledge and experience from our very rich tradition, and respond to new demands of a changing world. We aim to meet the expectations of coming next decades, and these grow every day...

Our educational offer is constantly improved in accordance to students’ needs and interests, and the scope of our scientific research expands in order to actively participate in the life of our Pomeranian community. We consider cooperation with industry a priority, which is why certain skills and competences acquired during the studies at our Faculty allow our graduates to meet the expectations of the labour market.

The educational offer is dedicated to candidates from the Pomeranian region, different parts of Poland and to candidates from abroad. Accommodation is usually available in student houses, although many other accommodation options are readily available in the Tri-City region.

The Gdańsk University of Technology undertakes the ‘University of Many Generations’ mission. Our university is the first higher education school in the Pomeranian region that offers a range of free, practical classes for people of all ages. It provides access to knowledge at all stages of education, from graduate, master's and doctoral levels (including implementation doctoratePL) to participating in scientific research, grants and projects. The mission of the Faculty of Chemistry is closely related to the mission of the Gdańsk University of Technology – a research university.

We conduct scientific research at a high national and international level. Our scientific unit was appreciated by receiving as many as two A+ categories during the last parameterization. We obtained A+ categories in both fields taught at the Faculty of Chemistry, i.e. in the field of chemical sciences and chemical engineering.

We have full academic powers to confer academic degrees and titles in the following fields: exact and natural sciences chemical sciences and engineering and technical sciences chemical engineering.

Our strategy has been developed according to the national recommendations regarding the development of science and higher education in Poland.

We can also offer everyone clean, smog-free air and a beautiful view of the sea –  our window to the world. Our proximity to nature and the stunning landscapes around us perfectly complement the holistic education we provide.
