Participation in FEMS 2025 in Milan, Italy | Faculty of Chemistry at the Gdańsk University of Technology

Kavya Kondaka, a doctoral student from the Department of Pharmaceutical Technology and Biochemistry, recently took part in the prestigious FEMS 2025 (Federation of European Microbiological Societies) Conference held during 14^th -17^th July, 2025 in Milan, Italy. The event brought together scientists across the globe to discuss cutting-edge research and innovations in the field of microbiology.

The conference covered a wide range of topics, including antimicrobial resistance, including soil microbes, plant-microbe interactions, gut-health, and advances in microbiology and yeast biotechnology.

Kavya presented a poster on her research in “Bisacridines as potential antifungal agents with ability to overcome fluconazole resistance” and actively participated in networking sessions and flash talks that encouraged valuable scientific exchange.

Additionally, she took part in a hands-on workshop titled “Designing with microbes,” which explored material bioreceptivity and interdisciplinary collaboration. The conference provided an excellent platform for sharing research, engaging with experts, and building meaningful academic connections.
