dr hab. inż. Alexander Kwiatkowski | Faculty of Chemistry at the Gdańsk University of Technology

On the 4th of July 2020, a long-term employee of our Faculty died at the age of 95, dr hab. inż. Aleksander Kwiatkowski. He was born on the 6th of January 1925. in Kozienice. He graduated from the Faculty of Chemicals of the Gdańsk University of Technology in 1950 - specialization received in chemical technology of wood. On the 1st of September 1949, he began working at the Gdańsk University of Technology as a junior assistant in the Department of Chemical Technology of Wood and Peat. 

 On 27.06.1960, He defended his doctoral thesis, and from 1969 he worked at the Institute of Organic Chemistry and Technology and Food in the Department of Chemistry and Polymer Technology. 

 In 1991 he obtained the title of associate professor. From 1964-71 to 1968-71, he was secretary of the Chemical Technology Section of the Polish Timber and, in 1968-71, a member of the Independent Panel on Wood Technology. Active and Generator Coals Committee of Science and Technology. 

 On 12.10.1973, he was awarded the Golden Cross of Merit.
