On 19 – 20 Sep. 2024 employees of our Department, Dr. Kamila Rząd and Dr. Agnieszka Potęga, conducted a workshop for students from the best secondary and technical schools in the Pomeranian Voivodeship as part of the 2nd edition of the “Polytechnic of Talents” summer school. During the laboratory lessons entitled: “Cultivation of Sapphire Crystals: Laboratory of Lysozyme Crystallisation from Hen's Egg”, the students learned the art of crystal growing and explored the secrets of crystallising lysozyme protein from a hen's egg, while discovering the extraordinary applications of these unique structures in biological and pharmaceutical research. Assistance with the preparation of the laboratory room and the necessary reagents was provided by Dr. Ewa Paluszkiewicz.
