Scholarships of the Minister of Education and Science awarded to outstanding young scientists

The results of the procedure for granting scholarships of the Minister of Education and Science for outstanding young scientists in 2023 (edition 18) have been announced

On 29 June, 2023, from among the applications of persons meeting the conditions for receiving the scholarship, the Minister of Education and Science, Przemysław Czarnek, awarded scholarships to 230 young scientists representing 51 scientific and artistic disciplines, including 37 doctoral students.

Rectors of universities and directors of institutes of the Polish Academy of Sciences, research institutes, and international institutes presented the Minister of Education and Science with 1,828 applications for scholarships for outstanding young scientists with significant achievements in scientific activity. The minimum score thresholds for receiving a scholarship varied depending on the discipline and status of a young scientist (a doctoral student or a person with a doctoral degree employed in a higher education and science institution or an academic teacher without a doctoral degree).

Two young scientists from the Faculty of Chemistry of Gdańsk University of Technology became scholarship holders:

  • Mateusz Daśko, PhD, Eng. (KCHN) - Field of medical sciences and health sciences / pharmaceutical sciences
  • Kaja Kalinowska, MSc. (KCHA) - Field of exact and natural sciences / chemical sciences
