On June 12, 2025, the Faculty of Chemistry at Gdańsk University of Technology hosted a delegation from Shanghai Institute of Technology. The delegation included Professor Chen Haijin, Vice President; Professor Yongzheng Fang, Dean of the School of Materials Science and Engineering; Associate Professor Jingshan Hou of the School of Materials Science and Engineering; and Associate Professor Yuan Liu, Head of the Department of International Business in the School of Economics and Management. The meeting was opened by the Vice-Dean for Research, Dr. hab. inż. Justyna Płotka-Wasylka, who welcomed the guests and introduced the purpose of the visit. Following this, Dr. hab. Christian Jungnickel presented the Faculty’s activities in the areas of education, scientific research, and cooperation with industry.

During the meeting, potential collaboration opportunities between the institutions in the field of undergraduate and graduate studies were discussed. The guests also had the opportunity to learn about the Faculty’s educational and laboratory infrastructure — including a presentation of the facilities at the Department of Process Engineering and Chemical Technology, led by Dr. hab. inż. Donata Konopacka-Łyskawa and Prof dr hab. inż. Anna Zieliśka-Jurek.

The highlight of the visit was the signing of a cooperation agreement between Gdańsk University of Technology and the Shanghai Institute of Technology, which took place later that afternoon. This event marks the beginning of new opportunities for joint research projects and academic exchange.
