Awards for young researchers - eleven MINIATURA awards for scientists from Gdańsk University of Technology

The National Science Centre announced the results of the 8th edition of the MINIATURA competition, addressed to young scientists who have not yet had the opportunity to independently manage a research project. Among the winners there are eleven projects from Gdańsk University of Technology, which received a total funding of over PLN 470,000.

MINIATURA is a program supporting the implementation of scientific activities such as preliminary studies, pilot studies, queries, or research trips. The competition is addressed to people with a doctoral degree who obtained it in the last 12 years. In this edition, a total of 339 grants were awarded for the implementation of research projects throughout Poland, for a total amount of over PLN 13.7 million.

Among the awarded projects there are initiatives implemented by researchers from the Faculty of Chemistry of Gdańsk University of Technology.

- Martyna Mroczyńska-Szeląg, PhD, Eng. received funding of PLN 47.96 thousand for the implementation of the project entitled "Does Geotrichum candidum constitute a new threat? – analysis of the proteome and metabolome of environmental and clinical isolates".

 This research can make a significant contribution to understanding the potential threats associated with this species of microorganisms.

Thanks to the involvement of scientists, including those from our faculty, Gdańsk University of Technology is strengthening its position in the national scientific community, while emphasizing the high level of research and the potential of young researchers.

We would like to congratulate Dr. Martyna Mroczyńska-Szeląg, PhD, and all other laureates from Gdańsk University of Technology, wishing them further scientific successes and implementation of ambitious research projects.
