Wymagania:

• Applicants should hold an MSc degree in chemistry, chemical technology, analytical chemistry, materials science, polymer technology, food chemistry, environmental engineering, or a related discipline.
• Very good spoken and written English, sufficient for reading scientific literature, preparing manuscripts, communicating research results, and collaborating within a multinational team.
• Experience in analytical chemistry, mass spectrometry, chromatographic techniques, thermal analysis, and/or data analysis will be an asset.
• Basic programming skills, especially in Python or another language used for scientific data processing, will be an asset.
• Experience with PTR-MS, GC-MS, TD-GC-MS, or other hyphenated MS techniques will be an additional advantage.
• Willingness to participate in short-term research placements and scientific conferences abroad.

Opis zadań:
Implementation of research tasks within the project entitled “TGA-PTR-ToF-MS: A Novel System for Comprehensive Analysis of Volatile Products of Thermal Decomposition”(2024/55/D/ST4/00434). The PhD student will participate in the development, optimisation, validation, and application of the TGA-PTR-ToF-MS system. The work will include planning and conducting laboratory experiments, preparation of samples, operation of analytical instrumentation, acquisition and processing of TGA, PTR-ToF-MS, and complementary GC-MS data, interpretation of temperature-dependent emission profiles of volatile organic compounds, and preparation of scientific publications. The student will carry out the project under the supervision of dr inż. Wojciech Wojnowski, in collaboration with members of the project team.

Warunki zatrudnienia:

1. Scholarship amount: 5000 PLN per month, paid for a period of 12 months, in accordance with the project budget and NCN regulations.
2. Start Date: 2026-11-01.
3. Participation in the project requires PhD student status at a recognised academic institution.
4. The scholarship will be awarded through a competitive procedure in accordance with the rules applicable to NCN-funded projects.

The decision will be made by the Secection Committee based on the application within 2 weeks from the application deadline. The Committee might request a telecon interview with pre-selected candidates.
