10:00 – 12:00 Lecture 1: Skin Tissue Engineering: Introduction (Skin bioengineering, dermo-epidermal skin substitutes, pigmentation, vascularization, 3-layered skin substitutes, possible clinical applications, in vitro 3D skin models)
12:00 – 12:30 – discussion
Room 19 CH B 10:00 – 13:00
Wednesday, 8 October 2025
09:00 – 11:00 Lecture 2: Cartilage Tissue Engineering: Introduction (cartilage bioengineering, types of cartilage, chondrocytes, chondrogenic differentiation, mesechymal stem cells, cartilage defects, bioink, 3D bioprinting)
11:00 – 11:30 – lunch break
Workshop 1: This hands-on workshop will focus on the microscopic analysis of native human and bovine cartilage tissues, along with tissue-engineered human cartilage transplants. Participants will have the opportunity to investigate various staining techniques for glycosaminoglycans (GAGs), including Safranin O and Alcian Blue.
Room 32 CH D 9:00 – 11:00
Thursday, 9 October 2025
10:00 – 12:00 Lecture 3: Strategies for Bioengineering Pigmented and Vascularized Skin Substitutes
12:00 – 12:30 – Coffee break
12:30 – 14:30 Workshop 2: This practical session involves an in vivo analysis of pigmented and vascularized human skin transplants, focusing on a comparative examination of light and dark pigmented skin types. The discussion will encompass histological techniques, including hematoxylin and eosin staining, as well as Fontana-Masson staining.
