PG was classified in the discipline of Chemistry for the first time | Faculty of Chemistry at the Gdańsk University of Technology

The authors of the ranking analyzed over 3 800 study programs at over 1 440 universities. They considered among others opinions about the universities in the academic world and among employers, citation rate and the impact of research on the environment.

The ranking included 51 disciplines in total, grouped into five broad subject areas: ‘Arts & Humanities’, ‘Engineering & Technology’, ‘Life Sciences & Medicine’, ‘Natural Sciences’, ‘Social Sciences & Management’.

GUT was for the first time included in the Chemistry discipline in the 451-500 range and for the second time in the  discipline Engineering-Electrical & Electronic, increasing from 451-500 range to 401-450.

The best Polish university in the Chemistry discipline turned out to be the Jagiellonian University (position in the range 251-300), while in the Engineering-Electrical & Electronic discipline - the Warsaw University of Technology (position in the range 201-250).

QS World University Rankings by Subject includes four indicators in its methodology, i.e.: the university’s reputation in the academic community, the university’s reputation among employers, scientific citations and the Hirsch index.
