Projects of Faculty of Chemistry researchers obtain funding from the National Science Center
Six scientists from Gdańsk University of Technology received funding for the implementation of research projects under the OPUS and PRELUDIUM BIS competitions of the National Science Center. The funds granted to Gdańsk Tech amount to over PLN 6.21 million.
Below we present the projects carried out by researchers from Faculty of Chemistry, which received funding:
- "Cleavable conjugates molecular nanocarrier: antimetabolite with antimicrobial activity", project leader: prof. PhD, DSc, Eng. Sławomir Milewski, Faculty of Chemistry, project amount: PLN 1 378 400 (OPUS)
- "Enzymes of the L-methionine biosynthesis pathway as new molecular targets for antifungal chemotherapy", project leader: PhD, DSc, Eng. Iwona Gabriel, prof. of the university, Faculty of Chemistry, project implemented in consortium with the Institute of Bioorganic Chemistry of the Polish Academy of Sciences (leader – Gdańsk Tech), project amount: PLN 1 677 700, including the amount for Gdańsk Tech: 1 544 500 (OPUS)
- "Propolis and polyphenols obtained from this product as potential antifungal agents", project leader: PhD, DSc, Eng. Piotr Szweda, prof. of the university, Faculty of Chemistry, project implemented in consortium with the Piastów Śląskich Medical University in Wrocław (leader – Gdańsk Tech), project amount: PLN 1 997 600, including the amount for Gdańsk Tech: PLN 1 861 200 (OPUS)
- "The influence of UPF1 ATP mimetics on mutated immunopeptides", project leader: prof. Theodore Hupp (UG), project carried out in consortium with the University of Gdańsk (leader), on the part of Gdańsk Tech the project is carried out by PhD, DSc Sławomir Makowiec, prof. of the university, Faculty of Chemistry, project amount: PLN 3 098 035, amount for Gdańsk Tech: PLN 1 433 680 (OPUS)
The ranking lists of subsequent editions of the OPUS, SONATA and PRELUDIUM BIS competitions include a total of 638 projects with a total value of almost PLN 668 million. Ranking lists and more information can be found on the NCN website.
