Fahrenheit Scholarship awarded for the implementation of the project at the FoCh
On November 16th this year, the results of the competition for scholarships for foreign doctoral students funded by the Mayor of the City of Gdańsk in consultation with Fahrenheit Universities were announced. Maria Alaide de Oliveira from the Brazilian Federal University of Pernambuco (UFPE) is among the three winners. She will implement the project entitled: "Metal-Organic Framework-based catalysts for hydrogen generation from low molecular weight compounds" in cooperation with Dr. Natalia Łukasik from the Department of Chemistry and Technology of Functional Materials. Ms. de Oliveira's internship is the result of cooperation between the Faculty of Chemistry of the Gdańsk University of Technology and the university in Brazil, as well as a half-year postdoctoral internship completed by Dr. Łukasik in the team led by Prof. Joanna Kulesza and Prof. Bráulio Silva Barros, to which Ms. de Oliveira belongs. As part of the project, the Ph.D. student will deal with the preparation of new catalysts based on organometallic systems, their characterization, and the study of activity in the hydrogen production process. The one-year internship will start in early 2023.
