Gdańsk Tech Doctoral Student Recognized at Prestigious AAAS Conference in the USA

Jakub Baczyński-Keller, a doctoral student at the Department of Biotechnology and Microbiology of the Faculty of Chemistry, Gdańsk University of Technology, and a Fulbright Junior Research Award recipient, received an honorable mention for his individual scientific presentation at the prestigious American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) conference held in the United States.
The AAAS conference is the world’s largest interdisciplinary scientific event, annually bringing together researchers, experts, journalists, and policymakers from around the globe. Its aim is to promote scientific collaboration, share the latest research findings, and reflect on the global challenges facing science and society. This year’s edition was held under the theme “Science Shaping Tomorrow.”
Among all doctoral students presenting their work in the form of posters, Jakub Baczyński-Keller received an honorable mention for his project entitled “Deep Dive into Macrophages’ Role in Regenerative Response to Zebrafish Spine Injury.” His presentation was recognized in the categories of developmental biology, genetics, and immunology. The distinction, along with the affiliation of Gdańsk University of Technology, was published in the April issue of the prestigious journal Science.
This achievement is significant not only for the young researcher but also for the entire academic community at Gdańsk University of Technology, highlighting the high quality and international character of the research conducted at the university.
