Winners of PRELUDIUM grants and Ministerial scholarships for outstanding young scientists

As part of the PRELUDIUM 22 competition, organized by the National Science Center, young scientists from our Faculty received grants to finance their projects:
- Project “More than MoS2: Study of charge storage mechanisms using in-situ Raman measurements in transition metal dichalcogenides as anode materials for sodium-ion batteries”, project leader: Zuzanna Zarach, MSc, Eng., Faculty of Chemistry, project supervisor: Andrzej Paweł Nowak, PhD, DSc, Eng., amount of funding: PLN 140,000;
- Project “Production and properties of polyurethane-wood composites (PU-WC) obtained using bio-polyols synthesized in the biomass liquefaction process”, project leader: Adam Olszewski, MSc, Eng., Faculty of Chemistry, project supervisor: Łukasz Piszczyk, PhD, DSc, Eng., amount of funding: PLN 70,000.
Minister's scholarships for outstanding young scientists
The Minister of Science awarded scholarships to a total of 228 outstanding young scientists, including 32 doctoral students, representing 53 scientific and artistic disciplines. As many as 1,708 applications for scholarships were submitted for the competition. Two people from the Faculty of Chemistry of Gdańsk University of Technology received those scholarships:
- Patrycja Makoś-Chełstowska, PhD, Eng., chemical engineering, Faculty of Chemistry, assistant professor at the Department of Process Engineering and Chemical Technology;
- Szymon Dudziak, MSc, Eng., chemical sciences, Faculty of Chemistry, conducts research at the Department of Process Engineering and Chemical Technology.
The scholarship amounts to PLN 5,390 per month and is awarded for a period of 36 months.
