DEC&S employees' monograph awarded in the ‘Książka w TEmacie’ competition
We are proud to announce that the monograph Energy and Environmental Protection, authored by employees of the Department of Energy Conversion and Storage of the Faculty of Chemistry, edited by Prof. Ewa Klugmann-Radziemska, published by PWN Scientific Publishing House, received an award in the prestigious ‘Książka w TEmacie’ competition.
This exceptional distinction emphasizes the quality and importance of PWN publications, which have been inspiring both students and enthusiasts of various fields of knowledge for years.
The ‘Książka w TEmacie’ competition is organized by the Editorial Office of the Energetyka-rozproszona.pl portal on the occasion of the 2nd Distributed Energy Congress. The idea of the undertaking is to promote publications broadly related to the phenomenon of energy transformation and to propose to DEC participants a canon of readings that are worth knowing in order to actively participate in current environmental discussions.
Authors of the book: Prof. Ewa Klugmann-Radziemska, PhD, DSc, Monika Wilamowska-Zawłocka, PhD, DSc, Eng., Katarzyna Januszewicz, PhD, DSc, Eng., Anna Dettlaff, PhD, Eng., Anna Kuczyńska-Łażewska, PhD, Eng., Michał Ryms, PhD, DSc, Eng., and Prof. Witold M. Lewandowski, PhD, DSc, Eng., discussed the idea of sustainable development, energy generation methods and related effects of environmental pollution. They addressed practical issues: waste management, practical aspects of photovoltaics, possibilities of using biomass as a source of renewable energy, issues of energy storage, including the use of hydrogen as a stabilizing factor for renewable energy sources and life cycle analysis - a tool for assessing the environmental impact of products and processes.
We wrote the book "Energy and Environmental Protection" using our experience from many years of research, with a wide range of readers in mind, interested in different ways of generating energy, possibilities of storing it and environmental aspects of using different technologies of its production. It can be a textbook for students of technical universities and colleges who want to deepen their knowledge, but also for technical workers and economists and people employed in public administration units, as well as anyone interested in business activity in the field of energy resources using new, inexhaustible energy sources. As authors, we are honored to receive the distinction of the award in the ‘Książka w TEmacie’ Competition. We would like to thank the Editorial Office of PWN Publishing House for its contribution to preparing it for printing: editing and typesetting as well as graphic design, thanks to which it looks interesting and encourages reading - says Prof. Ewa Klugmann-Radziemska on behalf of the team of authors.
The awards were presented on 28-30 October, during the 2nd Distributed Energy Congress in Krakow. On behalf of the authors, the statuette was received by Mr. Adam Filutowski - editor of the Polish Scientific Publishing House (PWN).
It is worth mentioning that the offer of PWN Publishing House also includes the publication "Proecological renewable energy sources - Compendium", also written by employees of the Department of Energy Conversion and Storage.
