PhD student scholarship - 1 (DoPTaB)
Name of the position – PhD student scholarship holder in the NCN OPUS21 project
Requirements:
- Master degree in the area of biology, biotechnology, chemistry, biochemistry or related discipline;
- The successful candidate must be a PhD student at Doctoral School at Gdańsk University of Technology;
- Basic experience in microbiology, molecular biology, genetic engineering and enzymology;
- Good skills in English;
- Passion for laboratory work, motivation and responsibility.
Plan of research
The selected candidate will join the research group of dr hab. inż. Piotr Szweda that realize the research project Opus UMO-2021/41/B/NZ9/03929, entitled: „ Biotechnological and pharmacological potential of bee products microbiota.”. The aim of the research carried out by the PhD student will be the isolation of microorganisms from bee products, testing their ability to produce enzymes of industrial importance, cloning and expression of genes encoding selected enzymes, and purification and characterization of recombinant proteins.
Form of submission of the application: email to the PI of the project (piotr.szweda@pg.edu.pl), the documents should be delivered until 15.01.2025
The conditions of employment:
Contract duration – 9 months with possibility to extend (beginning of the contract since 20.01.2025)
Scholarship amount – 1250 PLN
