Competition for the position of Doctoral Student within the OPUS30 project

Competition for the position of Doctoral Student within the OPUS30 project on New surface-supported metal-organic framework thin films (SURMOFs) for molecules capturing and photoconversion, DEC- 2025/57/B/ST11/00206 funded by the National Science Centre.

Competition ends: 06.03.2026

 

Tasks/role in the team:

- conducting research work in accordance with the project schedule, milestones and expected results;

- synthesis, modification and characterisation of materials developed in the project (including crystal structure, surface composition, optical properties, specific surface area etc.);

- development and improvement of research methodology, including procedures for the synthesis and modification of materials and physicochemical, sorption and photocatalytic measurements;

- analysis, critical evaluation and integration of research results obtained in tasks specified by the leader, taking into account requirements, literature comparisons and application aspects;

- active participation in the preparation of periodic and final reports, task implementation descriptions, presentation of results;

Requirements:

- completed master's degree in chemical technology, chemical engineering, chemistry, physics or a related field;

- student of the Doctoral School at Gdańsk University of Technology (within the meaning of the Act of 20 July 2018 on Higher Education and Science);

- interest in materials engineering, catalysis and interfacial phenomena;

- experience in laboratory work, in particular in the preparation of materials, methods of characterising materials, scientific achievements are welcome;

- ability to use literature databases;

- ability to independently plan experiments and analyse their results;

- fluent spoken and written English;

- ability to work in a team and communication skills;

Conditions for awarding scholarship:

Scholarship amount: PLN 5,000/month paid for 24 months

Start date: 1 April 2026

- CV including the above requirements and other skills/achievements (e.g. awards/distinctions, participation in conferences, completed internships/research placements, computer skills, etc.);

- copy of graduation diploma;

- a copy of a document confirming the status of a doctoral student.
