On 11-17.10.2021 Julia Godlewska, a student of the Faculty of Chemistry, together with the SimLE interdepartmental scientific association, took part in the 2nd edition of the European Rocketry Challenge (EuRoc) - a university rocket competition, promoted by the Portuguese Space Agency. The event was attended by about 400 students from all over Europe gathered in 20 teams, including three groups from Poland. Students from Gdańsk University of Technology designed and built the R5 rocket.
Doctor Natalia Łukasik from the Department of Chemistry and Technology of Functional Materials received a scholarship for the implementation of the project entitled: "Nanostructured catalysts for hydrogen production from small organic molecules" under the CAPES PRINT program announced by the Ministry of Education in Brazil.
The Historical and Program Board of the ESC appointed prof. Janusz Rachoń "with gratitude for taking up the social mission of keeping the Solidarity movement attractive and up-to-date, cherishing the memory of this peaceful revolution as the founding myth of common Europe, making Solidarity a source of inspiration and hope".
Every year, the International Relations Office organizes an information meeting for foreigners, starting their studies at the Gdańsk University of Technology. The event is not only an opportunity to welcome new foreign students at the University, but also to provide important information related to the beginning of the academic year, organization of studies and life in Gdańsk.
In the framework of the Europium Short-Term Outgoing Visits program, Dr Karol Parchem from the Department of Chemistry, Technology and Biotechnology of Food received a scholarship for a 4-week research visit in the Mass Spectrometry Center of the University of Aveiro (UA) in Portugal, led by Professor Rosário Domingues.
The Head of the DChTBF, on behalf of the academic community of the Faculty of Chemistry of Gdańsk Tech, including his colleagues from the Department, wished the Professor a happy birthday. The well-wishes were joined by former colleagues of Professor's team and representatives of various scientific institutions.
