OFFSHORE 2022 Career Day - Catch the big fish!

The first edition of the OFFSHORE Career Day at Gdansk University of Technology is coming up. This is a great opportunity to talk to representatives of companies operating in the renewable energy sector, but also an important step in choosing a career path. We invite students and graduates, as well as all those interested in offshore wind energy who want to build a professional career in one of the fastest growing energy sectors in Europe today.

The event will take place on October 26, from: 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m., at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Ship Technology, in the lobby of Building 30 (Institute of Ocean Engineering and Ship Technology), on the first floor.

Faculty seminar "Influence of solution composition on the fibrillation process and the formation of amyloid fibrils"

The faculty seminar will be on November 8 at 13:15 in the auditorium 1.4, Chemistry C.

The lecture will be given by dr. Jarosław Wawer (DoFCh). Subject of the seminar "Influence of solution composition on the fibrillation process and the formation of amyloid fibrils".

Winner of the Prof. Romuald Szczęsny Award - 21st edition

Romuald Szczęsny Prize is a prestigious award granted since 2002 by the Mayor of Gdynia to the most talented graduates of the Gdańsk University of Technology. The main goal of the award is to commemorate the prematurely deceased resident of Gdynia, a professor at the Gdańsk University of Technology and a former dean of the Faculty of Electrical and Control Engineering.

In 2022, the award went to our graduate, M.Sc. Edith Pilate. Edyta Pilate is a graduate of Material Engineering at the Faculty of Chemistry and a PhD student (discipline: Chemical Sciences). She received the award for her diploma thesis entitled "Hybrid systems for the release of antibacterial compounds composed of a polyurethane matrix printed in FDM technology and a hydrogel layer" realized under the supervision of dr hab. Eng. Justyna Kucińska-Lipki, prof. of the university at the Department of Polymer Technology.

On Wednesday 5 October 2022, the Swedish Academy of Sciences announced the winners of the Nobel Prize in Chemistry. The award for work on an innovative method of organic synthesis (the so-called click chemistry) was awarded to: Carolyn R. Bertozzi (Stanford University; USA), Morten Meldal (University of Copenhagen; Denmark) and K. Barry Sharpless (Scripps Research Institute in La Jolla; California ,USA). It should be mentioned that Barry Sharpless is a laureate of the Nobel Prize in Chemistry in 2001.

The Ventus competition in the Redivivus area has been resolved

Our big success!

Almost PLN 3 million was awarded in the first edition of the Ventus Hydrogenii Redivivus program in the REDIVIVUS area, which is an element of supporting the implementation of the tasks of the IDUB program in the field of research and implementation activities.

According to the rules of the competition, the maximum amount of co-financing for a project financed from the program is PLN 1,000,000 gross, and the project implementation period cannot be longer than 24 months.
