It is with deep regret that we received the information that on 6 January 2024, Professor Wiesław Wojnowski, the founder of the scientific school of chemistry of organosilicon compounds of international importance, passed away at the age of 90.

Professor Wiesław Wojnowski was born on 7 March 1933 in Toruń, in 1952 he graduated from the Technical Secondary School of Chemistry in Toruń, and then in 1957 he studied at our Faculty.

The Minister of Science announced the composition of the Polish Accreditation Committee for the 2024-2027 term. Among the members of the 7th term of office of the Polish Accreditation Committee for the years 2024-2027 is Anna Brillowska-Dąbrowska, PhD, DSc, Eng.

As many as three projects will be implemented at our Faculty thanks to funding under the OPUS 25 competition. These are: “Compounds modulating the functions of telomeric proteins TRF1 and TRF2”, project leader: prof.

Within the OPUS 24+LAP competition, the National Science Center provided funding for the project led by Adam Macierzanka, PhD, DSc, Eng., university professor.

The latest World's TOP 2% Scientists 2022 list includes 25 scientists from the Faculty of Chemistry of Gdańsk University of Technology.

The TOP 2% ranking is prepared by analysts from Stanford University, Elsevier and SciTech Strategies.
