A meeting for students of higher years of engineering studies was held in Auditorium 1.4 on 10 October. It was led by the Vice-Dean for Student Affairs, Sebastian Demkowicz, PhD, DSc, Eng., and was also attended by the Dean, Jacek Gębicki, PhD, DSc, Eng., Vice-Dean for Education, Robert Tylingo, PhD, DSc, Eng., and Vice-Dean for Science, Justyna Płotka-Wasylka, PhD, DSc, Eng.

Teacher of the Year 2024 title for a graduate of the Faculty of Chemistry

Gabriel Wołosewicz

Gabriel Wołosewicz teaches chemistry and vocational subjects at the District School Complex in Reda. He is the winner of the competition honoring teachers valued by students, parents and local communities. The awards ceremony took place at the Royal Castle in Warsaw. Gabriel Wołosewicz is a graduate of the Faculty of Chemistry of Gdańsk University of Technology.

Inauguration of the academic year 2024/2025 at the Faculty of Chemistry

On Monday, 30 September, a faculty ceremony took place: Inauguration of the academic year 2024/2025.

At the beginning of the ceremony, the Dean of the Faculty of Chemistry, Jacek Gębicki, PhD, DSc, Eng. welcomed the guests and presented the main goals of the new term of office of the faculty authorities (2024-2028). Then the Dean presented the acts of nomination to the new vice-deans:

The Board of the Polish Society of Calorimetry and Thermal Analysis named after W. Świętosławski (PTKAT) announced the results of the competition for the award for scientific achievements in the field of calorimetry and thermal analysis for young scientists. The award is granted once every 3 years to one person, and the candidate is selected in a national competition, which is addressed to employees and doctoral students of universities or other research units who are under 35 years of age.

Workshops on lipidomic analysis of human milk

On 12 September, workshops and lectures were held at the Faculty of Chemistry of Gdańsk University of Technology as part of the meeting: HUMAN MILK LIPIDOMIC ANALYSIS WORKSHOP. This is the fourth event at the Faculty of Chemistry co-financed by COST (European Cooperation in the Field of Scientific and Technical Research), as part of the CA 19105 “EpiLipidNet” action, and the first to deal with the topic of human milk lipidomics.

The prestigious World’s Top 2% Scientists 2024 list, developed by Stanford University in cooperation with Elsevier, includes a total of 62 scientists from Gdańsk University of Technology. There are as many as 20 from the Faculty of Chemistry.
