Results of the Argentum Triggering Research Grants competition (3rd edition)

In the 3rd edition of the Argentum Triggering Research Grants program, 22 within 33 applications received funding for a total amount of more than PLN 3 million.

The funds awarded under the competition will increase the level of quality of scientific activity of the Gdansk University of Technology. Under the program, it is possible to obtain a university grant to finance the costs of ongoing research and development of young scientists in areas consistent with the activities of the Priority Centers of PG's Research Areas.

Professor Żaneta Polkowska is a member of the Polar Research Committee

Professor Żaneta Polkowska, PhD, DSc, Eng., on the 21st February 2023 has become a member of the Polar Research Committee of the Presidium of the Polish Academy of Sciences for the term 2023-2026 (by the ruling of the Presidium of PAS no. 9/2023 from 21/02/2023 invoking the members of the problem committees and councils of the Presidium of the Polish Academy of Sciences for the term of office 2023-2026).

Award and recognition for the students of our faculty for their research project

The research projects, carried out in the period between February 2022 – January 2023 at the Faculty of Chemistry by the students of the second degree studies of the inter-faculty Biomedical Engineering, specialty Chemistry in medicine, were highly rated in the competition for the best research project.

Commission: Vice-Rector of Education Ph.D., D.Sc. Mariusz Kaczmarek, prof. Gdańsk Tech and the Dean of the Faculty of Chemistry Professor Agata Kot-Wasik have decided that the award of the Dean of the Faculty of Chemistry goes to  Eng. Karol Staszczyk for the research project: "Interactions of biomolecules in the additive manufacturing of biomaterials". The project has been realized at the Department of Food Chemistry, Technology and Biotechnology under the supervision of Ph.D., D.Sc. Robert Tylingo , prof. Gdańsk Tech and Ph.D. Szymon Mania.

Winners of the SONATA BIS 12, MAESTRO 14 competitions

On February 23rd the results of the SONATA BIS 12 and MAESTRO 14 calls for proposals have been announced. In both competitions, 472 applications were submitted. 63 projects received funding for a total amount of over PLN 188 million.

Results of the Aurum Supporting International Research Team Building competition (3rd edition)

In the 3rd edition of the Aurum Supporting International Research Team Building program, 7 applications received funding (50% submitted applications) for a total amount of more than PLN 2.5 million.

The funds awarded under the competition will influence and enrich the scientific potential of Gdansk University of Technology. Under the program, new research teams will be formed, led by PG scientists conducting research with foreign scientists.

Scholarship recipient of the first edition of H2 Academy organized by PKN ORLEN

On 9 February 2023, the Gala of Polish Science was held at the Jordanki Concert Hall in Toruń, during which, on the first day of the World Copernican Congress, the Minister of Education and Science presented awards to outstanding researchers representing various fields of science. The laureates were honored for merits in five categories: for significant achievements in the field of scientific, didactic, implementation, organizational and overall achievements.

Results of the Radon Supporting Most Talented Students competition (3rd edition)

Based on the ranking list of evaluated applications presented by the Evaluation Committee in 3rd RADON edition, the Rector of the Gdańsk University of Technology awarded 13 RADON scholarships to students who scored minimum 196 points. The scholarships were granted in the amount of PLN 1000 per month for 12 months, i.e. from October 1, 2022 to September 30, 2023.

The Radon Supporting Most Talented Students program is an element of the tasks of the IDUB program in the field of improving the quality of student education, in particular in the fields and disciplines related to the priority research areas (PRA) of the University. The goal may be achieved through scholarships for particularly gifted students engaging in the university's research activities.

Results of the Technetium Talent Management Grants competition (3rd edition)

Technetium Talent Management Grants
The third edition of the Technetium Talent Management Grants Program proved to be very popular as previous call for proposals. 19 winning projects received funding - for a total amount of PLN 443,389. Technetium Programe supports the activity of mentors cooperating with talented students.
