During the tenth edition of the student activity plebiscite "Golden Lions", organized by the Student Self-government of Gdańsk University of Technology, active and particularly talented students, scientific clubs and initiatives from our university were appreciated. The award ceremony took place on 28 November at the Academic Club "Kwadratowa", and representatives of the Faculty of Chemistry were also among the winners.

The National Science Centre announced the results of the 8th edition of the MINIATURA competition, addressed to young scientists who have not yet had the opportunity to independently manage a research project. Among the winners there are eleven projects from Gdańsk University of Technology, which received a total funding of over PLN 470,000.

We are proud to announce that the monograph Energy and Environmental Protection, authored by employees of the Department of Energy Conversion and Storage of the Faculty of Chemistry, edited by Prof. Ewa Klugmann-Radziemska, published by PWN Scientific Publishing House, received an award in the prestigious ‘Książka w TEmacie’ competition.

This exceptional distinction emphasizes the quality and importance of PWN publications, which have been inspiring both students and enthusiasts of various fields of knowledge for years.

The Polish-U.S. Fulbright Commission invites Master’s and PhD students of life sciences, biophysics and medical fields of study to submit applications for the BioLAB 2025-26 Program. The call for applications lasts until February 1, 2025.

The BioLAB program allows to complete a one-year research internship in a laboratory located in one of four institutions in the US:

Scientists from Gdańsk University of Technology, including the Faculty of Chemistry, will lead three international research projects for which funding of 3.7 million euros was awarded under the Interreg South Baltic 2021-2027 programme. The funding agreements were signed on 21 October, and the ceremony was led by prof. Krzysztof Wilde, rector of Gdańsk University of Technology. The event was attended by Konrad Wojnarowski, deputy minister of funds and regional policy, and deputy minister Jacek Karnowski.

We are pleased to announce that the position of Dean's Representative for People with Disabilities at the Faculty of Chemistry of Gdańsk University of Technology has been taken by Sebastian Demkowicz, PhD, DSc, Eng., professor of the university.

All persons who need support in adapting the conditions of studies to their individual needs can come for consultations, which take place every Friday from 8:00 to 9:00 in room 7, Chemistry C building.

On 17 October, in auditorium 1.4 of Chemistry C building, a seminar was held at the Faculty of Chemistry of Gdańsk University of Technology, devoted to innovative methods in education and modern teaching tools. The aim of the meeting was to present the latest trends and solutions supporting the teaching process.

For years, the Faculty of Chemistry of Gdańsk University of Technology has been educating future engineers, scientists and leaders who have a significant impact on the state of science and industry. This is a place where passion for discovering new solutions combines with concern for the quality of teaching. The faculty's employees are committed and professional, as evidenced by the numerous distinctions and awards they have won.

A meeting for students of higher years of engineering studies was held in Auditorium 1.4 on 10 October. It was led by the Vice-Dean for Student Affairs, Sebastian Demkowicz, PhD, DSc, Eng., and was also attended by the Dean, Jacek Gębicki, PhD, DSc, Eng., Vice-Dean for Education, Robert Tylingo, PhD, DSc, Eng., and Vice-Dean for Science, Justyna Płotka-Wasylka, PhD, DSc, Eng.
